August 2005 Mahalo.. American Savings Bank and some of our Kaneohe Staff teamed up on Saturday, August 27th to paint lines for the students to follow when walking to and from the cafe. What seemed a simple job at first took hours to complete. They also repainted the curbing so no parking and loading zones areas are made clearer. Thank you American Savings bank employees from Kaneohe and Kailua. You have made a difference for the students of Kaneohe Elementary School. |

Jan 2005 Mahalo.. Thank you for your contributions in the Dollar Race to benefit the Advertiser Christmas fund. The Student Council thanks you for the generous contribution of your hard-earned dollars. They collected $769.82. Please know that this was for a great cause and it made someone very happy for Christmas! Thank you also to those that contributed to the K-Kids Canned food drive. They collected 534 pounds of food for the Hawaii Food Bank. |

Nov 2004 Mahalo.. Mrs. Arrasmith’s class participated in the Polar Express Family Literacy Challenge from October 20-26, 2004, sponsored by the Honolulu Advertiser. The reading challenge encouraged students in 181 classrooms from 55 public and private schools to spend time reading with their parents. Mrs. Arrasmith’s class placed in the top 20. What a wonderful way to becoming a better readers! Congratulations! |
Nov 2004 Mahalo.. K-Kids thanks you for participating in the Canned Food Drive. The students collected lots of cans, which will be given to the Hawaii Food Band to help support those in need during the upcoming holiday season. |

April 15, 2004 Mahalo.. K-KIDS ! The KES K-Kids cleaned the school campus on 4-15-2004 as a community service activity. They did an outstanding job as they did an intense cleaning to our Kindergarten playground dinosaur area by raking and weeding. Mrs. Araki is the Kiwanis K-Kids advisor. |
April 16, 2004 Mahalo to the Carpenter's Union Apprenticeship Program The storage shed in the lower field is complete and an article appears in the Carpenter's union magazine. A ribbon cutting was held on 4/16/04 at 10:10 a.m. and attended by Senator Akaka, KES's fourth principal. Thank you to Mr. Gardner for picking up and returning scaffolding and generator. |
April 16, 2004 Bench Project - Navy Partnership Through the Ventures Project and with the help of Cory DeJesus, our Navy Partners put together and installed benches for the 5th and 6th grade classrooms. |

March 1, 2004 KES Community Volunteers We at Kaneohe Elementary School are lucky to have TWO organizations volunteering their time and talents to help improve and beautify our school campus. The families of Kaneohe Elementary School appreciate their time, hard work, and commitment to strengthening of Hawaii's schools. Hawaii's Carpenter Union Apprenticeship Program: Building a storage structure near the basketball courts to house KES's Fun Fair, May Day, Recess/P.E. Equipment, etc. This project will take four to six Saturdays. U.S. NAVY CPRFP UNIT: As part of their "Partners in Education" program, the unit will be on campus this Saturday to install new benches at the lower field. |
| August 18, 2003 Mahalo to Bryce Yoshida, a former KES student, who coordinated and planned the efforts of his Boy Scout troop to solicit donations, prepare the site, and construct the benches that are outside each of the Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms as part of his Eagle project. |
